One of Odd Future’s most talked about members has finally returned home to Los Angeles. Earl Sweatshirt has been out of the scene for quite some time now and even had a couple publications searching for his secret whereabouts. Ton’s of stories about the rapper being shipped off to a boarding school circled around but nothing was ever really confirmed. Maybe now we can get some answers.
Tyler The Creator tweeted today “Oh. Thebe Has….I Mean Earl Has A Twitter.” which lead to an account for @earlxsweat. That account sent out a tweet reading “Home” and a short video for a soon to be released track by Earl himself (which you can see below). In the video he mentions that he will release the track if he reaches 50,000 followers on Twitter by today.
We’re guessing that Earl will be back to performing with the Los Angeles collective, and they do have a local show on the schedule at Paid Dues Festival on April 7th which could be his big return. Since last years explosion of OFWGKTA Earl hasn’t been able to take in the actual success of the group. This should be interesting to see where it takes his career, especially since he is arguably the best lyricist in the group.
