On Saturday, February 4th we here at Downtown Lobby are once again joining From the Hip for another edition of our monthly SpaceCommand party at Verdugo Bar (3408 Verdugo Rd  Los Angeles 90065). The lineup of DJ’s for this months event include Our Name is Legion, Bass & Gently, myself and a special debut performance by LA beatmaker Silent Individual. We want you and all your friends to come out and to help spread word of our interstellar affair which is heald the first Saturday of every month. So what we’re offering is a chance to win a pair of tickets to some awesome upcoming shows at The Echo.

All you have to do is RSVP “Going” on the Facebook event HERE and leave the rest to us. We will choose and contact winners at random who will then be able to choose which show they want to go to from the list below. This is a 21+ event and early arrival is suggested. There will be another ticket giveaway in the coming week for those attending SpaceCommand so we hope to see you there.

Dubstep hero Skrillex will be showing Los Angeles fans tons of love as he has just announced that he will not play one but 6 back to back shows next month! If seeing Sonny Moore aka Skrillex is not enough, joing him will be Diplo, Zedd, Huoratron, AraabMUZIK, Nadastrom and many other special guests. The first show will take place on Tuesday, January 24th at Dim Mak Studios and the last event will be over at the L.A. Live Event deck on Sunday, January 29th. You can see all of the dates and special guests listed below.

As of now no onsale ticket information has been released to the public, but that should become available sometime in the near future. You can bet that all of the small intimate shows are going to be the first to sellout quick, so if you want in you should scoop up these tickets as soon as they go up for sale. We will keep you posted with any other details when they become available

Brodinski and Gesaffelstein are releasing their new EP “Bromance #1” and will celebrate by play a couple West Coast shows including one right here in Hollywood. The Bromance Tour will feature BrodinskiGesaffelstein and HARD’s very own Destructo. This is all set to take place at the Key Club in Hollywood on Saturday, January 14th.

Justin Bua will be celebrating the release of his new art book “The Legends of Hip Hop” with a book signing at Amoeba Music in Hollywood on Thursday, November 17th starting at 6pm. The book features pioneers who have helped shape the world of hip hop. One of those pioneers is legendary turntablist DJ Q-Bert. He will also be at the book signing and will start a performance at 6pm to kick off the event. If you have yet to ever see Q-Bert do his thing with vinyl then I highly suggest you be here for this one. We also suggest that you arrive early to guarantee a good viewing spot for this free show.

           

We are so excited to present an awesome show next month at The Satellite! JC Brooks and The Uptown Sound will be making their way from Chicago to Los Angeles for a show along with L.A. locals The Damselles and TC4 to get your feet moving. This is sure to be a night filled to the brim with funky R&B and soul. If you have yet to hear anything from JC Brooks and his band, then we encourage that you check out their cover of Wilco’s “Everything Will Be Fine” below. But that’s not all! The Downtown Lobby DJ’s will be spinning in between band sets and the night will be capped off with a midnight dance party thrown by Far Gone and Out. This is all set to take place on Friday, November 11th (That’s right 11/11/11) at The Satellite in Silverlake.

Boys Noize will finally play a two headlining shows here in Los Angeles and not just a festival slot! If you have seen him perform at either this years HARD Summer, Coachella or EDC then you know that this one is going to get pretty crazy. You can catch Boys Noize live at The Music Box on Thursday, December 1st and then followed by another show the next night on Friday, December 2nd. No information has been given if there will be a opening act.

One of our favorite electronic music artists will be making his return for not just one but two shows here in Los Angeles. Wolfgang Gartner is set to take over the stage of The Music Box in Hollywood on Friday, October 21st and then followed by a second show on Saturday, October 22nd.

DJ Shadow has been doing some major touring lately in support of his upcoming album “The Less You Know, The Better” and he has now scheduled a headlining date here in Los Angeles. You can catch his brand new Shadowsphere live show when it takes over The Music Box on Sunday, October 23rd.
